Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a third-person multiplayer shooter about space and war with Aliens. Unlike Alien: Isolation, the game focuses not on survival and horror, but on active actions.

The events take place in the future, 23 years after the events of the Alien films. Humanity is colonizing other planets, but we are not alone in the universe.

The player assumes the role of a Colonial Marine who serves aboard the spaceship USS Endeavor and is responsible for responding to SOS signals from the outer colonies. The USS Endeavor receives a signal from a distant destroyed oil refinery. The marines, having arrived at the station, find that it has been taken over by xenomorphs (an alien life form). They manage to save the only surviving scientist. In order to verify the information provided by him and protect the Earth from the penetration of aliens, the infantrymen land on the planet LV-895, where they conduct combat operations.

The main character is accompanied by two allies during missions, which can be controlled by other players (in the case of a cooperative game) or artificial intelligence (single-player game). There are a total of five character classes in the game: shooter, blaster, technician, medic and scout. Each of them has unique abilities.
