Frostpunk is a city-building strategy with elements of survival.

The plot of the game is based on an alternative history of human development. The events take place in the 19th century. Global cooling occurred, caused either by the activity of volcanoes, the emissions of which completely covered the Earth's atmosphere, or by the extinction of the Sun. When the entire planet is frozen over, a small group of human survivors head to the Arctic to build a city near a powerful heat generator once built by the British government.

The player, as the manager of the last city of people, will need not only to build buildings, but also to implement laws that regulate the life of society, take care of the development of medicine, technology, replenish food supplies, and maintain the morale of the population. In a completely frozen world, every decision has a price. Decisions will have to be made, where rational use of resources is on one side of the scales, and humanity on the other.

In addition to building and developing the city, you also need to explore the surrounding world. External expeditions are risky and expensive, but will bring valuable information and resources.
