In the role of racers - the hedgehog Sonic and his friends, well known to fans from other games of this series, as well as from the cartoon of the same name. The game has several modes: "Grand Prix", "Exhibition", "Time-Trial", "Team Adventure". You can play both in single-player mode (against bots) and in multiplayer mode.

The main feature of the game is teamwork. Competitions take place between teams of 3 players each. You can reach the finish line first, but end up losing if other team members perform poorly. To win, you need to help your teammates during the race.
