Frostpunk 2 is a single-player urban strategy game with survival elements.

The story takes place in the future. As a result of a natural disaster, eternal winter has come to Earth. The player takes on the role of the ruler of the city, whose survival depends entirely on his decisions and actions. It is necessary to build and develop infrastructure. Each district of the city performs a specific function (production of food, energy, etc.). At the same time, each district consumes some of the resources produced by other districts. Therefore, for the balanced development of the city, it is necessary to carefully think through and plan construction.

In addition to construction, it is necessary to engage in politics, take care of the population and interact with the main influential factions.
