Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - is a third-person Action / RPG game with a game world open to free exploration. According to the plot, it is a prequel to the first part of the 2008 game.

The gameplay is a simulation of life in the Middle Ages. In the center of the plot is the collapse of the Kalradi Empire and the formation of independent kingdoms. This empire is fictional, but the process of its collapse, which is depicted in the game, is very similar to the collapse of the Roman Empire.

After the death of the last emperor, mercenary units, bandit groups and nomadic tribes operate on the territory of the empire. The main character, controlled by the player, can join any of the mentioned groups and make their efforts to preserve the empire, or vice versa - to accelerate its disintegration.

The player is given considerable freedom of action. He can travel, fight, interact with other characters, craft items, play games, and more.
