The events take place in a gloomy medieval world inhabited by creatures from Japanese mythology. The player independently creates his character (in a special editor) and goes on a journey filled with battles with enemies. He is equipped with various types of melee weapons and gains additional skills as he progresses through the game.

The close combat system requires the player to concentrate and accurately calculate his forces. If you are not careful, you can die quickly. Most of the character's actions deplete the stamina bar. If it ends, the main character becomes helpless against enemy attacks for a certain time.

In addition to the single-player mode, there is the possibility of cooperative network play.
